Garment vs Body Measurements
Understanding the numbers so your pieces sit comfortably and beautifully on your body.
Every garment has its own set of measurements based on its design, fabric, and intended fit.
Comparing garment measurements with your body measurements gives you a clear idea of how each piece will feel on you.
GARMENT MEASUREMENTS
Garment measurements are taken from the actual item laid flat, then doubled where needed.
They help you understand:
- How much room the garment has
- Where it will sit across the bust, waist, and hips
- Whether the silhouette will flow, skim, or contour
- How the intended fit compares to your preferences
Each style will have different garment measurements, even in the same size, because each design has its own shape and structure.
BODY MEASUREMENTS
Your body measurements are your own baseline.
They help you understand:
- Whether the piece will feel relaxed
- Whether it will be softly fitted
- Whether it will feel fitted or firm
- Whether you may choose to stay true to size or size up
Your measurements don’t define you, they simply guide you toward the right fit.
A SIMPLE EXAMPLE - THE BUST
If your bust is 100 cm, here’s how different garment bust measurements may feel:
- 105–110 cm garment bust → relaxed and flowy
- 100–103 cm garment bust → softly fitted
- 98–100 cm garment bust → fitted or firm
This same idea applies to the waist and hips, depending on the style’s shape.
USING BOTH TOGETHER
Comparing the two helps you quickly understand:
- The comfort level
- The shaping
- The intended design
- Whether the style will feel like you

WHAT MATTERS MOST
Your measurements are not something you “fit into.”
They’re simply a tool that helps you choose the pieces that feel comfortable, beautiful, and right for your body.
